Rencontre théorico-clinique de Ferenczi et de l’École psychosomatique de Paris

Félice Nayrou

Abstract

Affinities between Ferenczi’s concepts and theories proposed by the
Psychosomatic School of Paris are illustrated through the case of a patient
who in childhood experienced severe psychic trauma linked to physical
abuse. Suffering since that time from diverse and diffuse somatic troubles,
she became afflicted in adulthood by increasingly severe somatizations, suggesting
an underlying psychic disorganization. At the same time, she tried
to defend herself against this internal destructiveness through hyperactivity
and other behavioural defences.
