Les restes-toujours-à-penser d’une filiation : à propos du cadre clinique
Abstract
The moment of implementation of the Montreal Psychoanalytic Clinic (Clinique psychanalytique de Montréal) will be the focus of this discussion. With the work of René Kaës in mind, group transferential shifts generated by this foundational event within the clinical team will be highlighted. The impact of unconscious alliances which were over-determined by the project’s history and inception on the preliminary interview process will be examined. A short case study will illustrate a particular alliance within the patient/cotherapist encounter and a key aspect of the patient’s object relations. Beyond this specific example, the fundamental question will be raised of psychic contents and movements in the building of group identity (i.e., psychoanalytic identity and its lineage) as well as their impact both on psychoanalytic institutions, the clinical setting and the protocol of treatment.
