La position concrète et la pulsion léthique

Marie-Hélène Veilleux

Abstract

In this paper, the idea of a concrete position is proposed as a way of conceptualizing a psychic experience proper to patients with an impoverished symbolically internal world. This position is articulated with the concept of lethic drive. This notion is proposed and described further by the author as an oversight, or absence force, embryo of the death drive. Also, the object relation question and moreover a reflection on psychic and relational traumatisms are discussed. This work is therefore a synthesis of the many trends of psychoanalytic theory.
